Hardesty genealogy

Hi,
  I am Eileen Hardesty Segall. I'm trying to do research on the family and
have made it back to about 1790, I think, without crossing paths with your
line as yet. My branch lies mostly in Illinois, early, beginning about 1820
with William Christopher. I believe his father was Henry Hardisty(sic), from
Rowan County, NC. From the way it looks, though, NC was only a temporary
spot. I was interested in the Henrys on your list, but don't believe they
correspond.
  If you know anything about this line, let me know. My father was:
   Robert Wayne Hardesty, b. 1916 Eldorado IL, m. Esther Arline Merritt
     son of
   James Robyn Hardesty, b. Hamilton Cty, IL approx 1893, m. Margaret Frances
      Williams of Kentucky, son of
   George Willis Hardesty, son of
   Jesse B. Hardesty, son of William Christopher. 
   This is extremely sketchy, I can supply more detail. Wm. Christopher
Hardesty       came into Illinois with John and Jesse. They settled in
Hamilton County
They spelled the name a variety of ways on land purchase records and on
census. These spelling ranged from Hardister and Hardisty to Hardisse.
