Was in the Civil war. His wife received a small pension as long as she lived -- $8.00 a month. He was in the 117th Reg INF Vol.S S/T -- On his discharge medal

I also have some information that he died during the Civil war 6 months

after Hervey was born. This is was from a book about Preston County. The
